So we are excited to announce we are staging a one off RETRO SPECIAL PLAY Expo Blackpool this October where we will be going back to our roots and uppiing the retro ante!
Our RETRO SPECIAL will see our biggest ever selection of consoles, computers, handhelds and PCs on the show floor. We are aiming for over 200 machines this year!
We will expand all areas of retro - the classic PC games section which we launched at Blackpool earlier this year will return as will the handheld games section which has been missing from Blackpool.
All your favourites will still be there - the four player big screen setups, rhythm games and our expanded light gun alley will be there. The LAN gaming zone will feature classic Doom, Quake and other setups.
We'll be mixing things up in the next gen zone too. How will that work you ask? Well, we'll be running a selection of reboots and remakes of the best loved franchises on our next gen machines - think Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy, WipeOut Omega Collection and Street Fighter V and you get the idea.
We'll also compliment that with our PSN and Xbox Live Arcade zone. Here you will find quirky, retro styled games that are only available on digital download. Finally, for PC fans we'll be running a selection of Steam games - many of them four player titles - all of which fit in with our RETRO SPECIAL theme.
Our arcade and pinball zones will be massively expanded too - Northern Lights Pinball will be bringing 50 pins to Blackpool - five times the amount we normally have and Retro Games Party will be maxxing out the arcades with 120 cabinets including some new Deluxe Cabinets we've not seen in Blackpool before.
We've got loads more to confirm too - like some of the gaming communities that will be joining us with special featured displays or our retro themed tournaments with great prizes. And then don't forget our guests and the trader hall which will be full with retro traders and merchandise vendors.
